Packaging in the Circular Economy Series
Packaging in the Circular Economy Series
This programme series is designed to analyse the different aspects of the Packaging sector’s Transition in the Circular Economy, where presenters from different expertise and background are invited to guide the Members through this journey.
Packaging has a central role in our current lifestyle due to the vital benefits and various applications. However, in a world filled with limited resources, we keep designing products to be used once and discarded. This results in enormous amounts of waste material, environmental degradation and economic loss. Their material value is forever lost to the economy. So how can we improve packaging systems in order to capture this wasted potential? The way forward is only circular!
Products must adapt and embrace circular economy principles. Circular product design and packaging will offer tremendous opportunities to shift from a linear economy to a circular economy. Clearly, the way we currently design, recover, and reuse packaging urgently needs a rethink! In this series, you will learn about the design of sustainable packaging systems, exploring the design, materials and business strategies of the circular economy.
