Plastics in the Circular Economy Series
Plastics in the Circular Economy Series
This programme series is designed to analyse the different aspects of the Plastics sector’s Transition in the Circular Economy, where presenters from different expertise and background are invited to guide the Members through this journey.
Plastics and plastic waste have been in the spotlight of attention these years, especially after the announcement of the EC’s Directive on Single Use Plastics. Alarming facts such as, by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans, highlight the need to rethink the way we use these extraordinary materials. We need to move away from today’s linear take-make-waste model and fundamentally rethink the way we design, use, and reuse plastics. Plastics are versatile materials, but the way we use them is incredibly wasteful.
But, is it possible to close the loop by rethinking the way we design, use, and reuse plastics to create a circular economy for plastics? This series will inspire innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders to develop new ways of creating value from transforming the way plastic is used and consumed. You will be introduced to multiple solutions, best practices and models of circular innovation across various business functions and sectors to inspire you and support you to develop your own value proposition to transform an existing business or to create a new circular venture.
